ELIS To Utilize Session Guitarist For Mexican Dates

August 13, 2007

Liechtenstein-based gothic metallers ELIS have issued the following update:

"Unfortunately, Pete [Streit, guitar] isn't able to come to Mexico with us because of job-related reasons. So we resolved to play these gigs with a replacement guitar player. His name is Kevin and he comes from Basel (CH). He will rock with us the stages in Mexico!"

ELIS' Mexican dates:

Aug. 24 - Cafe Iguana - Monterrey
Aug. 25 - 6. Festival Obscuro - Mexico City

ELIS will release a new single, "Show Me the Way", on November 2 in Europe. The single's title cut, which originally appeared on last year's "Griefshire" album, will feature lead vocals by the group's new female singer Sandra Schleret (DREAMS OF SANITY, SIEGFRIED). Also included on the single will be several previously unreleased songs from the "Griefshire" recording sessions.

ELIS' previous lead singer, Sabine Dünser, suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on July 7, 2006 during rehearsal and passed away the following day in hospital.

"Griefshire" was released in Europe on November 24, 2006 via Napalm Records (the U.S. received the album on January 16). The recordings for the CD were completed prior to the death of Dünser, who came up with the original concept for the album.

The follow-up to 2004's "Dark Clouds in a Perfect Sky", "Griefshire" was completed at Mastersound Studios in Stuttgart with producer Alexander Krull (ATROCITY, LEAVES' EYES).
