ELEKTRIK MISTRESS Call It A Day!

May 7, 2002

Canadian "stoner rockers" ELEKTRIK MISTRESS have called it a day, according to a report posted at www.stonerrock.com. "I have officially fired the guys and will be taking a much needed break for much of this summer doing lots of writing and jamming...," guitarist/vocalist Kurt Kuthe is quoted as saying. "I already have over 13 new tunes demoed (these are the songs [MASTERS OF REALITY mainman] Chris Goss wants to produce) and will be working with Shannon Boone (drums) from Detroit's SOUTH NORMAL on new tunes.... Gene Trautmann (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) may play drums as well later in October....but he is busy right now working on a movie. I am in negotiations with Chris Goss to produce the next CD and will be meeting with his representative when the QUEENS swing by here in Toronto on June 4th. I am very excited about the future and I have met a lot a great contacts through EM's last 2 years... We did a cool CD with Terry Brown (i.e. RUSH, VOIVOD, FATES WARNING),3 cool videos directed by Andrew MacNaughtan (i.e. VAN HALEN, RUSH) and had a f.ckin awesome 2-week tour of the Eastern United States... C-ya soon...and remember... 'Heaviness is a State of Mind...' "
