EDGUY: New Album Update

September 17, 2003

EDGUY frontman Tobias Sammet has posted the following message to the band's official web site:

"Hey you savage fuckers!

"Friends, I just thought I'd better drop you some news about the new album and how the recordings are going. Well, the work is going great, I just have to underline how relaxed everything is in the studio. The spirit and friendship between us is so cool, and during the last tour we had even grown tighter together as friends. And I swear, you will hear that on every single note on the album!

"I do not wanna blow our own trumpets too much (to avoid any edgay rumors). I do not blow trumpets at all! But for female interests: Watch out for the 'Blow Tobi's Trumpet!' contest coming soon!

"But I guess this album is gonna be our strongest in so many terms. Felix, for example, has matured into one of the best drummers in this genre. His playing is so well, it's hard to believe, how good he has become during the last 24 months. It is an honor to be in a band with such a drummer! And together with Eggi the rhythm section is so heavy, groovy and so tight. We have by far the best rhythm section sound ever, and so is the guitar sound.

"Not to forget about the orchestra, which makes the songs so mighty. As I said before, this isn't Vivaldi on speed for grown up men in pink tights or Prince Adam uniforms. This is Wagner! Songwriting wise we didn't give a shit about rules, we just wrote metal songs. Perhaps we're gonna change the album title, although 'Mysteria' fits well and sounds good to me, we think it maybe sounds too predictable and too obvious. The album is not one of a million fantasy-opera-metal-albums, it is a shitfucking rocket, if you know what I mean... So it has to be more dirty! What about 'Hellfire Club'? Yes, sounds strange, but I think you know that it is gonna be bombastic and epic anyway, so we should underline the new one because of its spontaneity, roughness and the heavy fucking metal attitude in it. I am the happiest man on earth!

"Early next year you'll know why! Can't say anything about the release date of the album as we haven't signed a deal yet. Those record company bastards just don't come up with the money to make us filthy stinking rich, hahaha... Seriously, as soon as we have signed a deal we'll let you know and you can expect the album January 2004. I gotta go to the studio now and have a coffee while listening to Dirk and Jens play some leads. Stay tuned, I am gonna come up with some news about and titles of single songs soon. Friends, I am so happy and proud and thankful to be in this band and this album will show you all why I have plenty of reasons to be. And then we'll tour, I'm gonna bother Felix with stupid jokes and we'll have some beers and a lot of fun and... Well, see you all then!"
