DREAMING DEAD Announces New Guitarist

July 23, 2012

Los Angeles-based progressive melodic death metallers DREAMING DEAD have announced the addition of guitarist Chris McCarthy to the group's ranks. The band states, "After many tiring years of continuous search, we are very pleased to announce the addition of guitar guru and long time friend Chris McCarthy to DREAMING DEAD's lineup. We feel his contribution will take the band's live sound and songwriting to new and exciting levels. Expect devastating new material in 2013."

DREAMING DEAD's sophomore album, "Midnightmares", was released on April 20. The follow-up to 2009's "Within One" "showcases DREAMING DEAD's ability to meld elements of black, death, thrash and Chuck Schuldiner-inspired progressive metal into one thought-provoking and intense sonic assault," according to a press release.

"Midnightmares" was recorded in part at DREAMING DEAD's home studio, with vocals, drums and mixing completed at North Hollywood's Architeuthis Sound. The cover artwork for the CD was created by renowned artist Travis Smith (OPETH, KING DIAMOND, DEVIN TOWNSEND).

DREAMING DEAD is:

Elizabeth Schall - Vocals/Guitar
Juan Ramirez - Bass
Michael Caffell - Drums/Vocals
Chris McCarthy - Guitar
