DREAM THEATER's MIKE MANGINI Endorses Frozen Ape's Newly Released Tempo Advance 2.0

February 24, 2014

Tempo Advance 2.0 for iOS is available now from the App Store. This metronome app is for advanced musicians, and is endorsed by the drummer for Grammy-nominated band DREAM THEATER, Mike Mangini.

Frozen Ape has incorporated support for iPads and four inch Retina Displays. The app features a cleaner, more streamlined design, complete with a new icon. Customizable interface colors create unlimited personalized themes with two styles — flat and skeuomorphic. These themes can be shared via email.

Mangini worked with Frozen Ape on the update for Tempo Advance. He is a longtime user of the app, which he has featured in his YouTube drumming tutorials. Mangini was instrumental in improving the app, requesting polyrhythms and a higher maximum of 20 subdivisions among other enhancements.

"Tempo Advance is and has always been the very backbone of my gig warmups and practice sessions because it keeps my mind occupied and focused much more than using a stand-alone, single click," said Mangini.

Tempo Advance 2.0 will be free to current Tempo Advance users. For the first two weeks after the app is released, new users can purchase it on Apple's App Store at 50 percent off its regular price of $3.99.

Frozen Ape was founded by independent developer Zen Ho in 2009. As a Singapore company that specializes in music applications, Frozen Ape is committed to creating user-friendly and functional solutions for mobile platforms.
