DREAM THEATER: First European Tour Dates Announced

DREAM THEATER will be kicking off their 2004 World Tour in January with the following "An Evening With" dates (no opening act):

Jan. 16 - Manchester, UK - Apollo
Jan. 17 - London, UK - Hammersmith Apollo
Jan. 18 - Rotterdam, NETH - Ahoy
Jan. 20 - Copenhagen, DEN - KB Halle
Jan. 21 - Oslo, NOR - Spectrum

DREAM THEATER are scheduled to begin mixing their new studio album in late August with producer Kevin Shirley (IRON MAIDEN, LED ZEPPELIN). The follow-up to 2002's "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence" is due this fall through Elektra Records.

In related news, DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy's one-off LED ZEPPELIN tribute band HAMMER OF THE GODS will be making their only U.S. appearance at BB King's in New York City on Wednesday, November 5. Tickets (priced at $25 in advance, $30 day of show) go on sale on Friday, August 22 at 12:00 noon at all Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster.com and phone charge 212-307-7171, The BB King's show will serve as a "warm-up" for the group's performance at the Montreal Drum Festival on November 7. HAMMER OF THE GODS' lineup is completed by Paul Gilbert (RACER X/ex-MR.BIG) on guitar, Dave LaRue (DIXIE DREGS, PLANET X) on bass and Daniel Gildenlöw (PAIN OF SALVATION) on vocals.
