DREAM THEATER Drummer To Guest On 'Friday Night Rocks'

DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy will be the featured guest on Eddie Trunk's "Friday Night Rocks" radio show on New York's Q104.3 FM on Friday, May 29.

GetCloser.com recently caught up with Mike Portnoy at the Roadrunner office in London, England to talk about the band's new album, "Black Clouds & Silver Linings". An excerpt from the chat can be viewed below.

DREAM THEATER's version of a medley of three songs from the legendary QUEEN"Tenement Funster", "Flick Of The Wrist" and "Lily Of The Valley" — is one of six cover songs that are included on the special-edition version of "Black Clouds & Silver Linings".

The DREAM THEATER cover of the QUEEN medley is now available at iTunes.

The six cover songs that are included on the special-edition version of "Black Clouds & Silver Linings" are as follows:

"Black Clouds & Silver Linings" is scheduled for release on June 23 via Roadrunner Records.

DREAM THEATER commenced work on "Black Clouds & Silver Linings" — the band's second for Roadrunner, following up 2007's "Systematic Chaos" — in October of last year.

Portnoy and guitarist John Petrucci are once again at the helm as producers, while Paul Northfield mixed the record.
