DRAGONLAND Begins Work On New Album

April 27, 2008

Swedish metallers DRAGONLAND commenced the songwriting process for their as-yet-untitled fifth album, tentatively due late 2008/early 2009.

Commented guitarist Olof Mrck: "After a year of throwing around concepts, ideas and themes, while working on several different projects outside of the DRAGONLAND universe, we are finally at hard work with writing the next album. The material so far is shaping up to be something special, and also something a bit different than what people may expect from us at this point. Suffice to say that you can expect more bombastic orchestrations and Cyclopean arrangements, soaring melodies and untold arcane and esoteric lyrical themes revolving around the unexplored vistas beneath the watery surfaces of the seven seas!"

DRAGONLAND's fourth album, "Astronomy", was released in November 2006 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Starfall" was recorded at Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, HAMMERFALL, DIMMU BORGIR) in Gothenburg with producer Fredrik Nordstrm. The cover artwork for the CD was created by art wizard Niklas Sundin, who had previously worked with ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES, and DARK TRANQUILLITY, among others.
