DORO Gets Threatened At UK Gig, Skips Aftershow 'Meet-And-Greet'

November 19, 2002

DORO's UK gig at J.B's Dudley over the weekend reportedly took a nasty turn when the German singer was handed a threatening letter during the show, nearly putting an early stop to the performance. According to an eyewitness account posted at MelodicRock.com, "Towards the end [of the gig], one of our 'female' friends was invited by a member of the security team to meet Doro after the gig. My friend waited around with the other hangers on and suddenly Doro was brought out and almost ran with her security staff with a towel over her head to a waiting vehicle and then it was it gone. My friend a bit disappointed asked the security guy what was going on. His reply was that during the gig she had received two letters on stage, one said 'I love you etc.', and the other was 'I am going to get you!' So with these threats we have got her out as she is a bit shaken up. Looking back, I did see one folded letter given to her between songs and her physical contact with the crowd stopped with the first encore."
