DON DOKKEN: GEORGE LYNCH Wants To Rejoin DOKKEN

Don Dokken recently spoke to Denmark's Antenna web site (formerly Metal Reference) about the new DOKKEN CD, "Hell To Pay", and the lineup changes that have plagued the group during the recent years. Asked about the "tension" between him and former DOKKEN guitarist George Lynch, Dokken said, "There's not much tension between me and George anymore. I just saw him about one month ago. We talked for a while and he told me he had a show, so a couple of days later I went to see the show. We're too old to be enemies. When we see each other we're friendly, but for some reason whenever I see an interview with him he's always saying pretty shitty things about me. When I see him in person he's really friendly and he always says the same thing — that he wants to get back in DOKKEN. It'll never happen though, I mean we've tried it twice. It's like a marriage, there's too much damage, you can't go back it's too late. [New guitarist] Jon Levin sounds better than Lynch anyway."

With regards to whether Levin is a permanent replacement for Lynch, Don said, "Yeah. He was our lawyer for ten years so I've known for a long time and he's also our attorney. He's an entertainment attorney, he was sick of being an attorney and he hasn't played or toured since he was in WARLOCK in 1991. He told me he wanted to play now, and he can always go back to be a lawyer in five years. DOKKEN was one of his favorite bands, and he said if he was going to join the band he wanted us to take the time and make a classic DOKKEN album. We did take our time, I mean it took us a year and we wrote like 35 songs and picked out the ten best. So that's how he ended up in the band"
