DISTURBED's DAVID DRAIMAN Promises An 'Action-Packed Kind Of Evening' On 'Evolution' North American Tour

January 3, 2019

DISTURBED frontman David Draiman said in a recent radio interview that he is "very much" looking forward to the band's "Evolution" North American headlining tour, which is scheduled to kick off on January 9 in San Diego, California.

"This upcoming touring cycle is gonna be really like playtime for us," he said (hear audio below). "We've been very, very looking forward to it. The longest sets of our career spanning our entire discography. We'll be on stage for about two hours each night. Different dynamics and elements from a live perspective that DISTURBED fans have never seen from us before. Really a theatric and just action-packed kind of evening. We can't wait to get it started."

He added: "We wanted to finally have the opportunity to do a show like this, to take the kind of time that we wanna take and give the audience as much of an evening with DISTURBED as possible."

DISTURBED released its seventh studio album, titled "Evolution", last October. The disc includes the first single and video, "Are You Ready", plus "A Reason To Fight" and "The Best Ones Lie".

Draiman told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that playing live helps take the edge off missing his family on tour. "The only thing that can make me forget about how much I miss my son and/or I miss my wife is when we are up there and all cylinders are firing, and the crowd is with us, and you have this power, this energy, this force that we're able to harness," he said. "It's truly, truly an amazing thing."

Draiman recently revealed that DISTURBED will no longer tour at the frequency he and his bandmates were known for in the past, explaining: "It's not going to be as cyclical as it has been in the past. We're being a lot more selective with our touring. We're all older, we all have families, we all have commitments outside of the band, so we're trying to re-evaluate how we do what we do so that we can balance everything. And that means that we won't be back around as often."

DISTURBED will be the musical guest on the Thursday, January 10 episode of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The band will perform several songs on the show's outdoor stage in front of what is expected to be a standing-room-only crowd. The program airs at 11:35 p.m.
