Launch Radio Networks reports: DISTURBED fans will soon have a chance to hear the title track from the band's upcoming third album, "Ten Thousand Fists", but only if they do a little viral marketing for the band first. New media player software now available at the Chicago quartet's official web site will unlock the song for anyone who downloads it, but only after the player has been passed along via email to 250,000 people. Once it reaches that number, the tune will automatically unlock.
DISTURBED singer David Draiman told Launch why he thought "Ten Thousand Fists" was a perfect choice for the title of the band's new disc. "It signifies strength, unity, conviction, power, and the exhilaration that you feel when you get to see that at one of our shows," he said. "It's one of my favorite moments, and people know that I have an affinity for asking people to put their fists in the air, and it's just, it's exhilaration to be able to see ten thousand raised fists or more."
"Ten Thousand Fists" is featured on the soundtrack of the new Electronic Arts video game, Madden NFL '06, which is due out on August 9. Three screenshots from the game will accompany the song when it is downloaded.
Other artists with songs on Madden NFL '06 include FOO FIGHTERS, FALL OUT BOY, GODSMACK, HOT HOT HEAT, THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS and FINCH. "Ten Thousand Fists", the album, arrives in stores on September 20. The first official single is called "Stricken".
DISTURBED begins a six-week North American tour today (Wednesday, August 3) in Ventura, California. ILL NINO and 10 YEARS will be the opening acts.
