DISASTERPEACE, the new band featuring singer Wade Black (CRIMSON GLORY, SEVEN WITCHES, LEASH LAW, BLACK REIGN, LEATHERWOLF), former KING DIAMOND guitarist master Pete Blakk, renowned drummer Jesse Martillo (CRIMSON GLORY) and bassist Chris Baylor, has been confirmed for the Nightmare Fest, a brand new festival set to take place March 21-22 at Bourbon Street in New Port Richey, Florida. Also scheduled to appear are CAGE and SHADES OF TWILIGHT.The event is the brainchild of Lance King — owner of Nightmare Records and former frontman of BALANCE OF POWER and PYRAMAZE. According to Lance, "Friday will be a shorter night of 4-5 bands and Saturday will be an all-day metal extravaganza. A few local headliners and a lot of Nightmare's finest bands will be here to perform....This is just the beginning of things to come!" Check out a poster for the festival at this location. Black previously stated about DISASTERPEACE: "Pete came out and took the stage with BLACK REIGN on September 29 and before the set was done we both knew that this collaboration could not and would not end with one gig. The only choice we had was to unite our metal visions under one name, and that name is DISASTERPEACE. This band will be everything we've been and everything we've wanted to be as musicians, songwriters, and performers." Black added, "It's a total thrill to be working with a legendary guitarist like Pete Blakk. Anyone who knows metal knows the awesome work Pete did with KING DIAMOND, but when you hear where he's coming from now, you will be blown away and blown to pieces!" As to what DISASTERPEACE will sound like, Wade offers the following hints: "Brutal. A skull-pounding, head banging assault, but with a twist: we're not turning our backs on melodies or choruses. Melodic aggression at its finest!"
