DIO: Update On DVD, Studio Album, Tour And More

February 24, 2004

The following update was posted at DIO's official web site:

DIO will release the live "Sacred Heart" performance on DVD March 23 on Rhino Records. The disc will feature bonus interviews with Ronnie James Dio (vocals) and Craig Goldy (guitar).

Ronnie and company are hard at work on the new record. Looks like the band will hit the studio in late March to start recording, and the album will be out sometime in June.

Tour dates are also in the works, with a European jaunt planned for mid-July until August, followed by a U.S. tour. Dates will be forthcoming as soon as they are confirmed.

Ronnie has written the foreword to the recently released "Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal", in which he was voted the #1 Heavy Metal Singer.

MTV is developing a new animated series called "Leatherwulf" which will feature Ronnie, along with others, as one of the Gods of Rock. More info on this as it develops.

"Hear N Aid II" is also being planned for this year, with the proceeds going to benefit Children of the Night, the organization supported by Ronnie and Wendy (Dio) to help child victims of prostitution.
