DINO CAZARES: FEAR FACTORY Owe It To Their Fans To Make A Killer CD

April 18, 2006

Former FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares has commented on a recent interview with the band's vocalist, Burton C. Bell, in which Bell stated that Dino "took more credit than he deserved" during his tenure with the group.

Speaking to Patrizia Mazzuoccolo of the Norwegian metal radio show "Tinitus" (web site) in early April, Burton was asked about the group's split with Dino and whether he has stayed in contact with the guitarist following his departure from the band. The following is an excerpt from the interview:

Tinitus: What happened with Dino? Everyone wants to know.

Burton: "I wonder the same thing. What did happen to Dino?"

Tinitus: What happened with FEAR FACTORYandDino?

Burton: "None of their business and none of your business."

Tinitus: Oh, really? You know, I would have thought that it was like a really big loss for the band. Obviously you guys have carried on and it's no problem, but it's always interesting for us.

Burton: "It's interesting for you. To me, it's just something I'm trying to get past. But I wonder what happened to Dino myself."

Tinitus: So you're not in touch?

Burton: "No, I haven't spoken to him in almost four years. One thing I'll say is he took more credit than he deserved."

Tinitus: I've always wondered: How did he become a porn star or something?

Burton: "Any fat fuck can become a porn star. [Laughs] I mean, look at Ron Jeremy. He's a damn porcupine."

After hearing an audio file containing the above portion of Burton's interview, Cazares sent the following response to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"I just heard this interview and I couldn't stop laughing…

"Ever since I've been out of FEAR FACTORY all I have been hearing is current members talking shit about me. Well, all I have to say is 'GET OVER IT.' I have… about four years ago!"

Interview excerpt #1:

Burton: "Dino took more credit than he deserved."

Dino: "What? My seven-string Ibanez guitar played itself????? The new FEAR FACTORY have been trying (unsuccessfully, I may add) to take away ANY credit that I deserve.

"Just a suggestion from [me]: The new FEAR FACTORY need to concentrate on making a killer CD. You owe this to your fans."

Interview excerpt #2:

Burton: "Any fat fuck can become a porn star."

Dino: "People who are insecure about themselves talk shit about other people to make themselves feel better. I am not an insecure person, so I do not feel the need to do this."

What does Ron Jeremy have to say about this?

Ron Jeremy: "God created rock 'n' roll AND porn so average guys like us can get laid too!"
