October 16, 2008

DIMENSION F3H frontman Krister Dreyer (a.k.a. Morfeus) has joined forces with MAYHEM as the session guitarist for the Norwegian black metal band's upcoming South American tour.

Commented Morfeus: "I'm very happy to head over to South America with MAYHEM. Their music is awesome, and I'm looking forward to kick some ass. Expect a set heavy as fuck!"

MAYHEM's South American tour is scheduled to kick off on October 24 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Guitarist Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen played his final Norwegian concert with MAYHEM on August 6, 2008 at the Øyafestivalen in Oslo.

As previously reported, MAYHEM is planning a U.S. tour in early 2009. The trek will reportedly consist of 21 shows and will kick off in the early spring. The exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

MAYHEM was honored in the "Metal" category at the 36th annual Spellemann awards (the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy Awards) for their latest release, "Ordo Ad Chao". The largest and oldest Norwegian music awards show was held on February 2, 2008 at the Spektrum in Oslo, Norway and was broadcast live on the Norwegian channel TV2.

"Ordo Ad Chao" entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 12, the band's highest position ever.
