DIAMOND HEAD Guitarist Performs With THE WILDHEARTS' GINGER In Wolverhampton (Video)

December 28, 2010

Guitarist Brian Tatler of NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) legends DIAMOND HEAD joined Ginger from THE WILDHEARTS on stage on December 22 at Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton, England.

Commented Brian: "Saturday, December 18, Ginger from THE WILDHEARTS calls to say he is out on tour as 'Ginger And Friends' playing the music of THE WILDHEARTS enquiring if I would like to play a song with him on Wednesday, December 22 at the Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton. He suggests I learn '29x The Pain'. I say I know quite a few WILDHEARTS songs and I offer 'My Baby Is A Headfuck'. Ginger says, 'Great. You can come on and do both those as an encore with Jason from WOLFSBANE ( the support band). You can have a solo each and do Shreddy Krueger.'

"It's been a terrible winter here and I set off in my snow-covered car passing lots of vehicles that have been abandoned by the curbside. I arrive in time to meet the rest of the band and Ginger volunteers to open the show with an acoustic set filling in for Spike who has failed to turn up!

"'Ginger And Friends' hit the stage at 9:15 p.m., treating the crowd to many great songs, including 'Caffeine Bomb', 'Suckerpunch' and 'I Wanna Go Where The People Go'. I waited nervously backstage for my introduction, having never played with this band before or indeed played these two songs in front of anyone. But once onstage, I loved every short minute of it and it felt like I was onstage for about 20 seconds.

"Loads of fun.

"See you all again sometime soon."
