DIABLO To Purge Evil Thoughts On Upcoming CD

November 12, 2004

Finland's DIABLO are scheduled to enter the studio in September 2005 to begin recording their fourth album, tentatively titled "Diablo: IV (The Sacrifice)". A January 2006 release is expected.

Regarding the album's projected title, the group's frontman Rainer Nygård said, "The title is related to the lyrics. Once again, I will put all that poison that's running through my veins into the lyrics. From time to time, you have to purge your mind of evil thoughts and when you tell the truth (about other people and so on),you have to sacrifice some things too."

"Diablo: IV (The Sacrifice)" will be the follow-up to "Eternium", which received a European release through Drakkar Entertainment in September. That album debuted on the Finnish album chart at position No. 3 upon its January 2004 Finnish release via the Gaga Goodies/Poko label.

In other news, DIABLO have organized a tribute concert dedicated to DEATH's Chuck Schuldiner under the banner "The Fragile Art of Existence". The show will take place on Saturday, December 18 at Klubi in Tampere and will feature additional performances by SARA (Finnish "singing metal" band),OMNIUM GATHERUM and TO SEPARATE THE FLESH FROM THE BONES (grindcore act featuring members of H.I.M., AMORPHIS and AJATTARA). All proceeds from the gig will go to charity.
