DEREK SHERINIAN Looking To Start Progressive Metal Band
Keyboardist Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) is looking to start a new progressive metal band. He says, "I have the players in mind that I will be using [but] I will be searching high and low for a singer. Please email me at [email protected] with the subject title 'SINGER.' Please include a link to your MySpace site so I can hear you."
In other news, Sherinian has announced plans to release an anthology/best-of CD/DVD around Christmas time to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of his debut solo record, "Planet X".
Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY), Tony Franklin (THE FIRM, WHITESNAKE), Brian Tichy (BILLY IDOL, OZZY OSBOURNE), Virgil Donati and Rusty Cooley (OUTWORLD) are among the guest musicians who appear on Derek Sherinian's new solo album, entitled "Molecular Heinosity".
The CD is scheduled for release on the following dates:
Japan: February 25
Taiwan: March 1
Germany, Austria, Switzerland: March 20
Europe: March 23
North America: March 24
Audio samples of five songs from "Molecular Heinosity" — "Antarctica", "Frozen By Fire", "Molecular Heinosity", "So Far Gone" and "Wings Of Insanity" — are available on Derek's MySpace page.
