DEFTONES Singer Collaborates With PUBLIC ENEMY Rapper FLAVOR FLAV

October 6, 2004

ABC ePrep is reporting that DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno has been working on some beats for rap pioneer Flavor Flav. He hung out with the PUBLIC ENEMY member recently and agreed to put some sounds together for him, although there's no word yet on whether anything will come of the collaboration.

The DEFTONES are currently out on the road, tuning up as a band before they head into the studio in Connecticut with producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, JANE'S ADDICTION, PINK FLOYD) to record their next CD. Moreno said that in the past, "by the time we'd write the record and we'd go to record it, it's like we'd been off the road forever." So this time around, with the writing for the disk behind them, they want to "just warm up as a band, and [get] really tight," Chino said.
