DEFTONES Perform On 'mtvICON' Tribute To THE CURE: Video Available

September 25, 2004

DEFTONES' performance at the "mtvICON" tribute to THE CURE, which was taped September 17 at Old Billingsgate Market in London, England, can be viewed online at this location. Also available for viewing is AFI's rendition of "Just Like Heaven", featuring an appearance by BLEEDING THROUGH keyboardist Marta.

As previously reported, Marilyn Manson hosted the show, which featured performances and testimonials from artists and celebrities who cite THE CURE as a significant influence upon their work. According to BBC News, Manson led a crowd of 1,000 through a series of musical and video flashbacks, punctuated by performances from DEFTONES, BLINK-182 and AFI.

In other news, DREDG have been confirmed as one of the openers on the upcoming DEFTONES North American tour. DEATH ANGEL, who were previously announced the openers on the trek, were pulled off the package, reportedly because they prematurely announced their participation, thus infuriating the DEFTONES' management.
