September 7, 2004

DEF LEPPARD have confirmed the plans by Island/Def Jam and Universal/Mercury to release a new DEF LEPPARD compilation album in October, titled "Best Of Def Leppard". Described as "an updated 'replacement' version" of the band's previous greatest-hits compilation, "Vault" (1995),the new collection will be released in North America under the title "Super Vault".

"The new compilation will be available in various different formats," the band write in a newsletter. "For example, the track listing of the North American version will be different than the U.K./European version, and on some markets a limited edition double CD will be released, including a brand new DEF LEPPARD version of a classic hit song from the '60s. Furthermore, a DVD of 'Best Of Def Leppard' will also be available, containing some 30 promo videos from 1983-2002.

"At this time, we are unable to give you the finalized tracklistings, exact release dates or any other details, as they are not fully confirmed yet. Also, keep in mind that all information stated above is still subject to change. For now, we'll leave you with a little teaser of.....well, you can probably guess what it is (or what it could be)! Keep checking DefLeppard.com for more details to be announced in the next couple of days!"
