DEF LEPPARD's 'Yeah!' Enters BILLBOARD Chart At No. 16

May 31, 2006

DEF LEPPARD's covers set "Yeah!" (Mercury/Universal) sold 42,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 16 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. This marks the group's tenth consecutive top 20 album, following the success of the band's two-disc best-of set "Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection", which entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 10 in May 2005 with sales of about 66,000 copies.

"Yeah!" is said to be "a heartfelt and hard-rocking tribute" to DEF LEPPARD's musical heroes of the late '60s and '70s — THE KINKS, BADFINGER, T. REX, DAVID BOWIE, SWEET, ROXY MUSIC, MOTT THE HOOPLE, FREE, FACES, and THIN LIZZY.

DEF LEPPARD kick off a short European tour on June 3, after which they'll hook up with JOURNEY for a three-month-long North American tour that starts June 23 in Camden, New Jersey.
