DEF LEPPARD is supporting their new covers album called "Yeah!", which has sold 134,000 copies in the United States so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD is said to be "a heartfelt and hard-rocking tribute" to DEF LEPPARD's musical heroes of the late '60s and '70s — THE KINKS, BADFINGER, T. REX, DAVID BOWIE, SWEET, ROXY MUSIC, MOTT THE HOOPLE, FREE, FACES, and THIN LIZZY.
As previously reported, DEF LEPPARD will be releasing a "deluxe edition" of their classic album "Hysteria" (1987) before the end of the year. No further details are currently available.
"Hysteria" was recorded in 1986 at Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, Netherlands; Windmill Lane Studio 2 in Dublin, Ireland; and Studio Des Dames in Paris, France with producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange. The LP is one of only a handful of albums (and the third in rock history) that has charted seven singles or more on the U.S. Hot 100: "Women" (#80), "Animal" (#19), "Hysteria" (#10), "Pour Some Sugar On Me" (#2), "Love Bites" (#1), "Armageddon It" (#3) and "Rocket" (#12). It remained on the charts for three years and has sold 18 million copies worldwide, according to Wikipedia.
