DEEP PURPLE Frontman To Guest On 'The Wizard Rock Show'

July 19, 2007

For those in the Triton College community (near River Grove, Illinois just outside of Chicago),legendary DEEP PURPLE vocalist Ian Gillan will be interviewed on "The Wizard Rock Show" on Sunday, July 22. The interview will take place before PURPLE's performance at the House Of Blues that evening. The show airs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST on WRRG 88.9 FM Triton College Radio.

As previously reported, a new audio interview with Ian Gillan has been posted at The Musician's Voice. Ian chats about the current DEEP PURPLE lineup, the band's last couple of studio records, and his "Gillan's Inn" CD. He also offers up a funny story about dealing with PURPLE drummer Ian Paice's feet while on the road in the old days.

An eight-minute DEEP PURPLE report that aired on the '80s British BBC TV program "The Old Grey Whistle Test", featuring footage of the band's U.K. fans traveling to Paris in 1987 to see the group perform as well as a short interview with Roger Glover and Ritchie Blackmore, has been posted at YouTube.

Eagle Rock Entertainment, through two of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, recently released "They All Came Down To Montreux: Deep Purple Live At Montreux 2006" as a deluxe 187-minute two-DVD set (Eagle Eye Media, $19.98) and CD (Eagle Records, $13.98). On June 26, an HD-DVD version was also released.
