DEE SNIDER: I Had Nothing To Do With BRET MICHAELS' Tony Awards Smashup

June 9, 2009

TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider is most concerned about the rumors that he was in some way involved with the unfortunate accident that resulted in POISON singer Bret Michaels being hit by a descending half-ton stage prop at this past weekend's Tony Awards, sweeping Bret off his feet causing contusions to his face and knocking him to the ground. The fact that Dee was seen in the rigging area of Radio City Music Hall in New York City, where the event was being held, minutes prior to the incident has no bearing on the matter. "Dee is a fitness freak," manager Phil Carson said in a statement that was released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "He will often go for a run, or climb stairs in spare moments. He was not at all disappointed that the cast of 'Rock of Ages' chose [to perform] a POISON song instead of 'We're Not Going To Take It' [by TWISTED SISTER]. Dee wishes Bret a speedy recovery."

As previously reported, TWISTED SISTER will be signing copies of the band's new release, "Stay Hungry 25th Anniversary Edition", at two separate in-store events on Tuesday, June 30:
