DECREPIT BIRTH: In Pre-Production Mode

January 22, 2009

California tech-death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH are in pre-production mode for their third full-length album, titled "Polarity". The follow-up to last year's "Diminishing Between Worlds" is tentatively due this summer via Nuclear Blast Records.

According to a press release, "Polarity" will contain "nine songs of epic death metal," including "Life Cycles", "Sea of Memories", "Symbiosis", "Beyond Eternity" and "Mirroring Dimensions". Production and tracking will once again be handled by guitarist Matt Sotelo at his Legion Studios, with mixing duties being taken care of by Zach Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DEEDS OF FLESH),who mixed "Diminishing Between Worlds". Sotelo says the new material features "some of the heaviest guitar riffing" the band has ever written.

Capital Chaos has posted video footage (see below) of DECREPIT BIRTH's November 21, 2008 performance at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, California. Also on the bill were THE FACELESS, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS, VEIL OF MAYA and NEURAXIS.

DECREPIT BIRTH, founded in 2001, has so far released two highly acclaimed albums, "…And Time Begins" (2003) and "Diminishing Between Worlds" (2008).

"Diminishing Between Worlds" was released in January 2008 via Unique Leader Records. The CD was recorded at Castle Ultimate studios with engineer/producer Zack Ohren.
