DARKTHRONE's NOCTURNO CULTO To Release 'The Misanthrope' DVD; Trailer Available

March 30, 2007

Peaceville has set an April 23 release date for "The Misanthrope". Described as DARKTHRONE stalwart Nocturno Culto's first-ever foray into the visual world, the film is said to be a documentary/fiction film which will show the Norwegian black metal scene in its element, particularly focusing on DARKTHRONE, with guest appearances from AURA NOIR as well as GALLHAMMER, to name a few. This DVD package comes in stunning super-jewel-case format with a booklet and a bonus audio CD. The CD features music composed by Nocturno himself specifically for the film. There will be DVD extras such as rare live DARKTHRONE footage so it really is a must for all DARKTHRONE and black metal disciples worldwide. An exclusive screening will be held at Frogner Kino Theatre in Oslo, Norway on Friday, April 6.

Commented Nocturno: "The initial thought of making a DVD came years back, in 1993. With all the interest around black metal's early years here in Norway, and all the documentaries, books, etc that are being made, I thought that making this DVD would be a fine idea, a totally weird film with no actual information, but with atmosphere and self-irony. It took me almost four years to complete, I just waited for events to happen, and brought my camera with me. Prepare yourself for a journey through various events and shadows of thoughts."
