DARKSIDE: Second Czech Republic Concert Cancelled

December 1, 2007

Austrian death metal band DARKSIDE has been forced to cancel a second show in the Czech Republic after it was determined that the group's guitarist — Janos Murri, Italian guitar wizard of RESURRECTURIS — would be unable to make the gig.

Commented the band: "Due to unavailability of seats in the plane [from Milan, Italy] to Prague today at 12.45, Janos is not able to join us for this show. As Janos for the moment is the only available guitarist (Peter D. is sick and Pit is no longer available for DARKSIDE's live activities),there is no other possibility for us than to cancel the show. We are very sorry about how things developed, but it's something we face improvise and unprepared to be honest.

"Yesterday evening it looked like Janos would get the plane today, so he called me to confirm and that we could pick him up at the airport in Prague whereas this morning we had to learn that there was no available seats in the plane. Changing over to another airline would have increased the ticket price to approximately 900 euros one way, which is way to much.

"We are very sorry indeed because Czech Republic has been a second home to DARKSIDE throughout the 16 years of our musical career and our fans overthere have always been very loyal and a great support, but in fact we cannot do anything at this moment. We will try to come back as soon as possible to see all our friends in Czech Republic."

DARKSIDE released its latest album, "Amber – Skeletal Journeys through the Void", in March through Austria's up-and-coming metal label Noisehead Records.
