DARKSIDE: Reunion Show Cancelled

May 9, 2010

The previously announced reunion show by the classic lineup of the Austrian death metal band DARKSIDE — which was scheduled to take place at the Night Of Rock 2010 festival on July 30 in Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn, Austria — has been cancelled "due to personal issues between some members of the original lineup."

Commented vocalist/keyboardist Wolf: "Once more I have to comment a cancellation which I am really fed up with by now!!!

"I am really very sorry for this, but those issues are beyond my possibilities of taking action. I apologize to everybody who was looking forward to see this show and, of course, also to the organizers of the festival, but this is nothing I could have influenced or foreseen.

"As far as I am concerned, there won't be any further tries to establish this original lineup in any kind of form.

"Next year it will be 20 years that this band has been established and I will definitely come up with a good album to celebrate that.

"The new DARKSIDE will arise once again!!! More details to be released soon, so please stay tuned and keep up the faith for DARKSIDE."

The group's lineup for the Night Of Rock 2010 performance was supposed to consist of the following musicians:

Peter Durst - Guitar, Vocals
Peter Böhm - Bass
Robert "Roach" Grögler - Drums
Wolf - Keyboards, Vocals

This lineup recorded the first three DARKSIDE albums and has sucessfully toured with the likes of SINISTER, SIX FEET UNDER, VADER, MOONSPELL and THERION all over Europe. The same lineup has played alongside CARCASS, AMORPHIS, KRABATHOR, ANATHEMA, JUDGEMENT DAY, SILENT STREAM OF GODLESS ELEGY and many others on various occasions.

DARKSIDE released its latest album, "Amber – Skeletal Journeys through the Void", in March 2007 through Austria's Noisehead Records.
