DARKANE: Studio Video Diary Part 4 Available

April 1, 2008

Drummer Peter Wildoer of the Swedish thrashers DARKANE has issued the following update from the recording sessions for the group's new studio album, due later in the year via Nuclear Blast Records:

"So the fourth video diary is done. It includes the rhythm guitar recording and all that goes along with that. An in-depth explanation of what equipment we used as well as some furious riffs by Klas [Ideberg, guitar] and Christofer [Malmstrm, guitar]. Hope this makes you all excited for the upcoming CD!

"As I said in an earlier blog, we're a bit behind with the video diaries than what's actually happening in the studio. So today we finished the vocal recordings and we're very happy with the result! Jens [Broman] has done a tremendous job and puts a new dimension to the DARKANE sound. He has nailed 12 songs and has delivered greatly on all of them. Most likely is that 10 songs end up on the CD and two songs will be used for limited versions and such. Also almost all guitar solos are done. I guess Christofer and Klas have two more solos each to record. This will be done during the next couple of days. The solos so far sound great! Tomorrow I will start preparing for the mix and will start mixing the drums later this week, looking forward to that a lot. We have 36 channels of drums so there will be lots to do, ha ha!"

DARKANE played its first show with new singer Jens Broman (CONSTRUCDEAD, THE DEFACED) in November 2007 at the ProgPower Scandinavia festival in Copenhagen, Denmark. According to guitarist Christofer Malmstrm, "Jens enjoyed every second of the show, and so did the rest of us. Our former vocalist Andreas was in the audience to support us, and he was very postive afterwards... along with the rest of the crowd."

DARKANE's upcoming DVD was shot in May 2006 in the band's hometown of Helsingborg, Sweden.

DARKANE has been confirmed for Chicago Powerfest 2008. The sixth annual metal festival will take place on Friday/Saturday, May 2-3, at The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. There will also be an official Powerfest "kick-off" show on May 1, featuring ENSIFERUM, TURISAS, TYR and ELUVEITIE, who will be making a stop along their Paganfest tour.
