DARK TRANQUILLITY's 2007 Recap

January 6, 2008

Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have issued the following update:

"We wish you all a great and prosperous 2008. May all your wishes and desires come true, and may DARK TRANQUILLITY be the soundtrack to said wishes and desires coming true.

"A brief 2007 recap, since everyone is doing it right now: It was indeed a good year for us; more festivals than ever, highly successful tours in the U.S. and Europe (including the Scandinavian headline trip that exceeded all expectations),high profile award nominations and of course the excellent response from fans and critics alike for 'Fiction'. Thanks to you all!"

DARK TRANQUILLITY's "Haven" (2000) and "Projector" (1999) are being reissued in Japan this month to coincide with the group's Japanese tour. Both albums will feature lengthy liner notes by vocalist Mikael Stanne detailing the songwriting and recording process as well as the inner working of the band at the time of creating the songs. In addition, "Projector" will feature the extra track "Exposure" — previously unreleased in Japan — and "Haven" will be graced with "Cornered" as a bonus song.

DARK TRANQUILLITY and THE HAUNTED will team up for the "The Double Titans Tour In Japan". Confirmed dates are as follows:

Jan. 16 - Osaka, JPN - Big Cat
Jan. 17 - Nagoya, JPN - Club Quattro
Jan. 18 - Tokyo, JPN - O-East

DARK TRANQUILLITY's new album, "Fiction", was released in April 2007 via Century Media Records. The CD was mixed by Tue Madsen (HIMSA, THE HAUNTED) and "encompasses all of the elements on which the band built their career: thought-provoking lyrics, shredding guitar work, captivating melodies and sheer brutality," according to a press release.
