DANZIG Land New Drummer

June 15, 2003

Bevan Davies from the band COMES WITH THE FALL (and also substitute/touring drummer for JERRY CANTRELL in 2001 and 2002) has officially joined DANZIG as the band's new drummer. Davies' first live appearance with the group will take place on Friday, July 4 at the Bilbao Accion Rock Festival at Parque de Zorrozaurre-Deusto in Spain.

Although no official word has yet come down, it is expected that Davies will be the featured drummer on DANZIG's new studio album, the recording for which is scheduled to begin in late July.

Davies, who is said to be a huge DANZIG fan, was forced to leave COMES WITH THE FALL's current U.S. tour following the band's performance at The 10 High in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday (June 13) in order to begin rehearsing with DANZIG for the upcoming Bilbao Accion Rock appearance. He will be temporarily replaced in COMES WITH THE FALL by Brian Hunter of support band DROPSONIC, who will be doing double duty with his own group through the two bands' scheduled performance at The Note in Chicago on Wednesday, June 25.

"I just want to say that we're proud of Bevan at getting the opportunity to play with Glenn Danzig, who is probably one of his top three idols of all time, and someone for whom we all share a great admiration," COMES WITH THE FALL guitarist/vocalist William Duvall said in a statement posted on the band's official web site. "Yes, the timing sucks but it couldn't be helped. Opportunities like this come along very rarely. Whether this association with DANZIG lasts for one show or until the end of time, B.D. owes it to himself to check it out firsthand and make the most of whatever it brings."

DANZIG have yet to announce a permanent replacement for Joey Castillo, who left the band last September in order to join the ultra-hot QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE. DANZIG subsequently announced ex-HALFCOCKED skinsman Charlee X as a temporary replacement for Castillo, and played two Halloween dates with him in Las Vegas (Oct. 29) and San Bernardino (Oct. 31). More recently, DANZIG completed a European tour and two "Blackest Of The Black" West Coast dates using the services of TYPE O NEGATIVE skinsman Johnny Kelly.
