CRIMINAL Announce New Album Title

April 8, 2005

Anglo-Chilean thrash extremsits CRIMINAL, featuring former PENTAGRAM frontman Anton Reisenegger, have set "Sicario" as the title of their new album, to be released in September by Metal Blade Records Europe. Sicario is a Spanish word for assassin and is most commonly associated with the hired killers of the South American mafias and drug cartels.

"Sicario" will be recorded in May at Stage One Studios in Borgentreich, Germany with famed engineer/producer Andy Classen (DEW-SCENTED, DISBELIEF, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, etc.). Songs set to appear on the album include "The Land God Forgot", "Time Bomb", "Rise and Fall", and "Sicario". The artwork will once again be handled by Chilean artist/designer Claudio Bergamin, who was responsible for the covers of both the "Cancer" and "No Gods No Masters" albums.

On the overall direction of the album, vocalist/guitarist Anton Reisenegger says: "We are sort of going back to the roots on this one, reminding ourselves where we come from and how we started. There is definitely a big SLAYER influence in the new material, as well as some early MACHINE HEAD and 'Heartwork'-era CARCASS. It's very riff oriented, just meat and potatoes!"

CRIMINAL, who recently completed their line-up with original bassist Juan "Kato" Cueto, have also confirmed their appearance at the Devil Days Festival in St. Leonhard am Forst, Austria on June 10. Further live activities by the band will be announced as they are confirmed.
