CRADLE OF FILTH: Japanese Version Of 'Nymphetamine' To Include BATHORY Cover

August 13, 2004

CRADLE OF FILTH bassist Dave Pybus has posted the following studio update on the band's official web site:

"The new album is finished and the promo tour has started which saw me and [vocalist] Dani [Filth] travel through Cologne - Germany, Stockholm - Sweden, Amsterdam - Holland, Milan - Italy and New York - USA. There is a 6-track CD featuring unmixed and unmastered songs gone out to the press which rumour has it can be downloaded on the net. I wanna personally thank whoever did this for us as it's helped the promotion of 'Nymphetamine' a thousand fold and we now hope to go on and sell a million copies due to people downloading our songs before we put them on the website. Cheers for that. I'll buy you a beer if we ever meet. You can officially download the title track for us when it appears on the 'Resident Evil' soundtrack later this month. Thanks.

"One thing not many people have heard so far is our BATHORY 'Bestial Lust' cover, which is set to appear on Japanese release of 'Nymphetamine' as an extra track. We did this before BATHORY mainman Quorthon died but we'd still like to think of it as a tribute to them. Maybe this track will appear on our special edition early next year, so rest of the world... don't worry.

"The video shoot for 'Nymphetamine' takes place this week in London at a secret location and [former THEATRE OF TRAGEDY and current LEAVES' EYES singer] Liv Kristine WILL be featured in the video. Dani tells us: 'It's sort of a murder ballad. The vibe of it is going to be like you are watching theatre. It's going to be very Shakespearian, but the lead characters are actually both females, so there is going to be a slight lesbian kink to it.' Nice... I spent some of today choosing the models for the video.

"Preparation for our South American tour has now begun and we are working on the set list in rehearsals, which is leaning more towards older tracks for the fans down there. 'Nymphetamine' will be released while we are actually in Colombia (on the 28th September),so plenty of reason for us to celebrate! As for touring plans in the rest of the world... bands tipped to be playing with us range from MUDVAYNE, LACUNA COIL, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD in the USA and TYPE O NEGATIVE in Europe before Christmas. All this can change so please don't quote me on it. I'd just rather people hear it from the band instead of unreliable sources."
