COLDWORKER To Take Part In Three-Way Split With ANTIGAMA, PIG DESTROYER

April 2, 2007

COLDWORKER, the Örebro, Sweden-based band consisting of current and former/current members of such bands as NASUM, RELENTLESS, CARNAL GRIEF, RUIN and PHOBOS, will participate in a three-way split with ANTIGAMA and PIG DESTROYER, to be released exclusively through Relapse mailorder. COLDWORKER's contribution will consist of the Japanese bonus track from their "The Contaminated Void" sessions, entitled "Far Beyond Driven".

In other news, COLDWORKER is currently working on five new songs for its sophomore album, according to drummer Anders Jakobson (ex-NASUM). "We've been polishing these songs a lot, trying out different arrangements and such," he writes on the band's web site. "Joel [Fornbrant, vocals] has written song rhythms for two of the songs using old POSSESSED lyrics to work out the phrasing! Rehearsals with the POSSESSED lyrics has been recorded and it sounds very cool.

"There are as of now no plans for a studio session or even a tentative release date for our next album — we just write new songs because we like it and because we want to be really prepared next time."

COLDWORKER has scheduled a gig at Kafé 44 in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday, April 20. Also due to appear are RETALIATION and VOMITORY.

"The Contaminated Void" was recorded by COLDWORKER last June and mixed by Dan Swanö. The CD was issued in the U.S. on January 23 via Relapse Records.
