Classic DARKSIDE Lineup To Reunite For Austria's NIGHT OF ROCK Festival

March 2, 2010

The classic lineup of the Austrian death metal band DARKSIDE will reunite for an appearance at the Night Of Rock 2010 festival on July 30 in Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn, Austria.

The group's lineup for the performance will consist of the following musicians:

Peter Durst - Guitar, Vocals
Peter Böhm - Bass
Robert "Roach" Grögler - Drums
Wolf - Keyboards, Vocals

This lineup recorded the first three DARKSIDE albums and has sucessfully toured with the likes of SINISTER, SIX FEET UNDER, VADER, MOONSPELL and THERION all over Europe. The same lineup has played alongside CARCASS, AMORPHIS, KRABATHOR, ANATHEMA, JUDGEMENT DAY, SILENT STREAM OF GODLESS ELEGY and many others on various occasions.

Commented keboardist Wolf: "It all started out as an idea of our original drummer Roach. He has been involved in his new outfit over the past couple of years and is also involved with organizing a local festival in his home area. One day he called me up and asked me about my opinion on a possible reunion show of DARKSIDE in the classic lineup. As there wasn't much going with DARKSIDE since the split from our recent drummer, and I was in the middle of preparing my own project MARGINALIA, I suggested to arrange a meeting with all four of us to see where we stood at that time. I knew that Peter was involved with THE ANTIPRODUCT and our bass player now lives in Slovakia, so I thought, we should give it a chance. We met and agreed on going for it as a single, one-time performance exclusively for this festival. We have had a couple of rehearsals since then and I must say it feels really good to jam with the guys. The old spirit has somehow come back, haha. Since then there have been adresses from various people to book us also for some other shows but we really want to be this a unique thing.

"We will play only songs from the first three albums on that show, just up to 'Evolution'. I can't definitely exclude the possibility that DARKSIDE won't be doing anything more or new in this lineup, but I guess time will have to tell..."

DARKSIDE released its latest album, "Amber – Skeletal Journeys through the Void", in March 2007 through Austria's Noisehead Records.
