CHTON: New Song Posted Online

February 12, 2006

CHTON, the Norwegian death metal band featuring Torstein Parelius (MANES) and Vegar "Vyl" Larsen (KEEP OF KALESSIN),have uploaded a new track, entitled "Scavenger of a Dead World", at www.myspace.com/chton. The cut comes off the group's brand-new three-song promotional CD, "Death Awaits", which was recorded at Godt Selskap studio (BLOODTHORN, NECROPHAGIA, KEEP OF KALESSIN). This is the first recording featuring newly recruited drummer Larsen. "Death Awaits" will not be made available for sale (it is only being used as a promo for labels),but one of the tracks will be featured an upcoming split 7" with fellow Trondheim death metallers BLOODTHORN. The other two songs will be re-recorded for the follow-up to "Chtonian Lifecode", the 2004 CHTON debut on Retribute Records. The band is currently without a label, but almost a full album's worth of material is ready, and CHTON hope to release their second album in the third quarter of 2006.

"Death Awaits" track listing:

01. Scavenger of a Dead World
02. Contagion (The Disease)
03. Dobermanifesto

In other news, CHTON have relaunched their official web site, featuring video downloads of live footage and behind-the-scenes material. Check it out at www.chton.com.
