CHRIS POLAND's POLCAT Schedules New York City Live Debut

Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22 will mark the New York City debut of former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Poland's latest side project, POLCAT, at The Iridium. OHM:/OHMPHREY bassist Robby Pagliari will be filling in for POLCAT's Sean O'Bryan Smith for these shows. The excitement continues on Monday, July 23, as Chris Poland and the LES PAUL TRIO will be joined by special guests Percy Jones (BRAND X, TUNNELS),Mike DiMeo (THE LIZARDS, RIOT, MASTERPLAN),and POLCAT members Frank Catalano, Jim Gifford, and Robby Pagliari for a different musical stew that is sure to be unique and exciting.

POLCAT's self-titled debut CD was released earlier this year on Ashro Records. The band consists of the astounding talents of fusion guitar icon Chris Poland, Grammy-nominated sax giant Frank Catalano, internationally acclaimed solo artist/bassist Sean O'Bryan Smith and drum phenomenon Jim Gifford.

POLCAT members take their extremely diverse backgrounds of solo performance coupled with a musical repertoire spanning every inch of the music industry to create their own take on the next step in contemporary jazz. Four composers, locked in a room, and created pure music from its most basic properties.
