CHIMAIRA: First Taste Of New Music To Come New Year's Eve

CHIMAIRA frontman Mark Hunter revealed during an interview with MusicPlusTV earlier in the month that the title track from the band's upcoming CD, "Resurrection", will be released online (presumably on and on December 31. The group also announced that it is planning on hitting the road in February with two other as-yet-undisclosed bands "who are doing really well right now."

As previously reported, Ferret Music has set a March 6, 2007 North American release date for "Resurrection". The CD will be issued in Europe via Nuclear Blast Records.

CHIMAIRA began recording "Resurrection" on October 2 with the production team of Jason Suecof and Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY). The band filmed a video for the title track off "Resurrection" on December 6-7 in the Los Angeles area. The group will headline "Chimaira Christmas 7" on Wednesday, December 27 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. Also scheduled to appear are DEMIRICOUS, FOREVER IN TERROR and BOWEL.

CHIMAIRA's last album, "Chimaira", was recorded at Spider Studios in Ohio with producer Ben Schigel.

CHIMAIRA's "Threnody", a leftover track from last year's self-titled LP, has been posted online at this location. The song appears on the "Masters of Horror II" soundtrack, which came out in October via Downtown Records.
