CELLADOR Guitarist BILL HUDSON: I Had Nothing To Do With MASTODON's HINDS Getting Injured

September 24, 2007

Guitarist Bill Hudson of the Nebraska-based power metallers CELLADOR has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"I got a call from a friend this morning. He said he heard on a local radio station here in Omaha that I apparently got in a fight with a member of MASTODON, and he was seriously injured.

"As ridiculous as that sounded, I thought I'd do some research and see where that came from. That's when I found out the true story.

"Apparently, MASTODON guitarist Brent Hindsgot in a fight with SYSTEM OF A DOWN's bass player Shavo Odadjian and a musician named William Hudson. However, to my surprise, I found people in more than one message board accusing me of being that William Hudson. Not to mention I got a couple of e-mails from angry MASTODON fans lately saying how much my band sucks and that I should fight him by myself. I didn't give it that much credit, but now it all makes sense, doesn't it?

"First of all, I've never met anybody in SYSTEM OF A DOWN, and I definitely wasn't in Las Vegas during MTV's Video Music Awards on September 10th. I was probably sleeping.

"I know that nobody in the press (except for this local radio station) really said that I was that William Hudson, but I definitely don't want MASTODON fans to get mad at me for something I haven't done. This is just ridiculous, there are tons of people called William Hudson out there.

"I think it's fucked up that people still fight like animals because of being under the influence of whatever, and I am really sorry to hear that Brent was sent to the hospital. I hope nothing like this ever happens again.

"To all MASTODON fans who developed hatred towards me and my band, please know that I am NOT that William Hudson.

"I wish all the best to Brent, MASTODON and their whole fanbase."

CELLADOR's new album will be recorded between November and December in Tampa, Florida with producer Erik Rutan (MORBID ANGEL, HATE ETERNAL). It will be mixed by Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, DEVILDRIVER, BURY YOUR DEAD).

CELLADOR's "Enter Deception" CD was released in June 2006 via Metal Blade.
