CANDIRIA Drummer Talks About Upcoming CD

February 28, 2004

CANDIRIA have posted a sound clip of the new song "The Nameless King" at their official web site. Check it out here.

"The Nameless King" comes off the group's upcoming album, "What Doesn't Kill You", due in June through Type A Records.

CANDIRIA drummer Kenneth Schalk recently posted the following message on the band's official message board regarding the musical direction on the forthcoming CD.

"If I could only let you guys hear the whole album. Wouldn't that just be so great? if you could only hear the song we're mixing right now. Holy shit!!!

"But that's just the suspense we feel when anticipating a band's new release. Through that time between the last album and the new one, we begin to slowly conjure up our own thoughts of what the band's new album will sound like. I'm guilty of it myself. But what makes that experience the best is getting the new album and hearing another extension of that band's creativity and talent that you've never heard before in them.

"To dive deeply into 2 thread pages' worth of knowledge about what makes a great musician to me is retarded. As we grow, we learn. We also become wiser and learn to get more in touch with who we really are inside. I'm 33 and have learned quite a lot about music and life and am 100% confident about my emotional and technical integrity when I lay down tracks. There is not 1 song on this album that will leave drummers disappointed, including 'The Nameless King'.

"I ask for all your trust when i say this album is another stage of our evolution and takes the CANDIRIA sound to yet another level of mind expansion.

"Remember how important music is to your life. Your decisions are yours and well respected. Everyone has their own tastes but I've learned from myself and observing countless others, you only grow as much as the music you listen to."
