BYZANTINE: New Album Title Confirmed

January 16, 2007

West Virginia's forward-thinking thrash band BYZANTINE has set "Oblivion Beckons" as the title of its third album, due out in July via Prosthetic Records. The follow-up to 2005's enigmatic "...And They Shall Take Up Serpents" will contain 12 brand new tracks and will also contain complete note-for-note guitar transcriptions, in both standard musical notation and guitar tablature notation.

Explains vocalist/rhythm guitarist Chris "OJ" Ojeda, "we had such a great response from the tablature on the last album we decided to keep that level of expectation high upon us and tab this album out as well. Nothing less for our true fans and friends."

Handling the recording and production duties on "Oblivion Beckons" will once again be BYZANTINE's longtime friend and producer Charles A. Fisher, owner of 101 Productions in Sissonville, West Virginia. Mixing will take place at Highview Studios in Maryland by Drew Mazurek (SOULS AT ZERO, NOTHINGFACE, GWAR) and the album will be mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Mastering in NJ.

BYZANTINE will take a month off of recording to join the Chains of Humanity tour with GOD FORBID, GOATWHORE, MNEMIC and ARSIS beginning January 31 in Houston, Texas.
