BURST Sign With RELAPSE RECORDS

July 15, 2003

Sweden's BURST have signed a worldwide recording deal with Relapse Records. The band will showcase their unique style of heavy music on their Relapse debut, "Prey On Life", due on September 23 in North America and October 13 in Europe.

BURST — whose lineup consists of Linus Jägerskog (vocals),Jesper Liveröd (bass) (ex-NASUM),Patrik Hultin (drums),Jonas Rydberg (guitar),and Robert Reinholdz (guitar) — construct powerful, crisp and perfectly balanced music that molds both emotion and intensity. With a sound firmly rooted in metal and the punk/hardcore aesthetic, BURST rely just as heavily on ambience, atmosphere, and tone as they do on complexity, aggression and raw emotion. A wholly original entity, BURST deliver unquestionably brilliant music that consumes and digests the listener with grand and hypnotic waves of sound. BURST's "Prey On Life" was recorded at Gothenburg, Sweden's Studio Phlat Planet with producer Fredrik Reinedahl (IN FLAMES, PASSENGER) and will feature artwork from Aaron Turner (ISIS).
