BORN FROM PAIN Frontman Undergoes Another Eye Surgery

July 2, 2009

Dutch hardcore metallers BORN FROM PAIN — whose lead singer, Rob Franssen, recently underwent "a very serious surgery" on his eyes which forced him to leave the band's tour with TERROR, STICK TO YOUR GUNS and TRAPPED UNDER ICE — have issued the following update:

"Most of you might have heard about Rob's eye operation. After a seemingly successful recovery, Rob returned to tour two weeks ago. However, due to his eye problem returning, he had to drop off tour last week to undergo surgery again.

"Rob will not be fronting the band this weekend in Eindhoven and the upcoming July shows. However, BORN FROM PAIN will be playing every show this month with a substitute singer except for Vainstream, which we had to cancel. As it looks now, we will return to full strength as of August.

"Rob would like to thank everybody for their support during the last five weeks!"

"Sons Of A Dying World", the latest video from BORN FROM PAIN, can be viewed below. The track comes off the band's most recent album, "Survival", which was released in Europe on November 3, 2008 via Metal Blade Records. The CD is said to be "musically [as] uncompromising as ever with an own twist in groove, melody, heaviness and harshness. Lyrically, [it is] more than ever making a critical and uncompromising stand concerning the state of the world today."
