BLOOD DUSTER Singer Shatters Collarbone, Band Cancel Gigs

June 17, 2004

Australian grindcore band BLOOD DUSTER have been forced to cancel their previously announced shows in Adelaide and Perth due to vocalist Tony Forde shattering his collarbone following an incident at a gig in Geelong. "[Tony] was taken to Geelong hospital as soon as we had finished and given the news, unfortunately he had to wait to see a specialist to see whether it would be possible for us to finish the rest of the tour," the band write on their web site. "He also received five stitches in the back of his head when he landed in the drum kit.

"[Now that] Tony has been to see a specialist … the verdict is that he is not allowed to play for at least two weeks, possibly longer depending on how his shoulder heals. If it has not healed well enough he will need to have an operation and have pins put in.

"Unfortunately given the nature of blood duster shows this was bound to happen at some point, but we are sorry that it had to happen when we had so many cool gigs to look forward to. These gigs will be re scheduled along with the Adelaide show that was supposed to happen on the 13th as soon as we can."
