BLACK SABBATH Guitarist Wonders About THE DARKNESS

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has admitted to Launch Radio Networks that he doesn't quite know what to make of THE DARKNESS — whether they're a serious rock band, or just a big joke that's caught on in a way no one could have imagined. Iommi told Launch that he's astounded by the success of THE DARKNESS, which he suspects might get them someplace SABBATH's never been: "Oh yeah, they're doing tremendously well in England now. That's the 'flavor of the month,' you know?" Tony said. "When I first saw it, I thought, 'Wow, this is a, a take-off. It's almost like a comedy act.' And then, 'Bloody hell, this is for real!', when I saw it again in the charts. (chuckles) But, you know, good luck to 'em. They'll probably get in the (Rock And Roll) Hall Of Fame now."
