BEHEMOTH Mainman Checks In From European Tour

April 8, 2007

Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH are currently on the road in Europe as part of this year's No Mercy Festival tour alongside ROOT, DEW-SCENTED, NAPALM DEATH and MOONSPELL. The band's mainman Nergal has checked in with the following report:

"It's the first touring experience in seven months for us, and let me tell you the truth, first shows were rough. It took us few days until we felt fully comfortable on stage but all the recent concerts were nothing but awesome. Denmark was beyond great! I love this country and fans' attitude. We played one of the new songs live, 'Christgrinding Avenue', and the response was massive! We are in Belgium today and I can't wait to hit the stage again and get drunk with some of my old-time friends. It's OBITUARY headlining tonight and tomorrow night. Fuckin' sweet!”

"ROOT is touring Europe for the first time ever I think, but they do really well. I enjoy watching their set…. We even picked one of their early songs and play it during line check almost every day. DEW-SCENTED take no prisoners. Thrash metal at its best and probably the coolest guys around. NAPALM is beyond insane! I thought we might be the most extreme act on the bill… but seeing them every night I'm sure I was wrong. MOONSPELL is probably one of the most impressive and pro live acts I've ever witnessed. Breathtaking performance. And super-cool dudes too! I'm looking forward to the rest of the shows. London and France is coming up next! It's gonna be insane!"

BEHEMOTH's new album, "The Apostasy", is scheduled for release in July. The group's most ambitious and epic offering yet, it was recorded in the band's hometown of Gdansk with Nergal and longtime sound engineer Malta in the producers' chairs. The effort was mixed with the acclaimed Daniel Bergstrand (IN FLAMES, MESHUGGAH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) at Dug-Out Studios in Sweden and mastered by Bjorn Engelmann (RAMMSTEIN, SAMAEL).

BEHEMOTH became one of the most talked-about acts within the scene due to their vicious and unrelenting live performances on last year's Sounds of The Underground tour, which garnered them legions of devoted new fans. After a slew of major U.S. tours with the likes of such acts as DANZIG, MORBID ANGEL, CHIMAIRA and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, the group more than solidified themselves as one of the genre's most exciting new artists.
