BEATALLICA To Perform On Chicago Radio Station

March 13, 2006

Milwaukee-based BEATALLICA, a satirical mashup act whose hilarious schtick marries the songwriting prowess of the BEATLES to the deep-throated rock growl of METALLICA, will be making a live appearance on Chicago's WLUP 97.9 FM The Loop (web site) on Thursday, March 23. "We'll be playing live in the studio, fully plugged in, [beginning at] about noon CST," the band write on their web site. "We'll do a few tunes, hang out a bit, and have fun with our new buds."

In other news, BEATALLICA have been nominated for the Wisconsin Area Music Industry award for "Nostalgia Act" once again. "We were happy to be nominated last year and to have two years in a row of recognition is really great for us," the group write. "We're a band that belives in the power of networking and strong relationships. We've known the WAMI folks for some time now and it's special for us to have support at home."

Upcoming BEATALLICA shows:

Mar. 31 - Kenny B's - Manitowoc, WI
Apr. 01 - Subterranean – Chicago, IL
Apr. 21 - Mainstage - Waukesha, WI
Apr. 22 - Abbey Pub – Chicago, IL

As previously reported, BEATALLICA will be teaming up with THE PUNKLES, a German band who perform songs by THE BEATLES in punk style, will be teaming up for the European "Beatles Trash Night Tour 2006" beginning in late April.

BEATALLICA made headlines early last year when received help from METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich in their dispute with the Sony Corporation over BEATALLICA's "unlawful use" of the group's compositions "without authorization or license." The case has since been resolved, with BEATALLICA being allowed once again to operate their web site, Beatallica.org, and continue performing their patented blend of BEATLES tunes in a METALLICA style.
