BACKYARD BABIES/MICHAEL MONROE Guitarist DREGEN Signs Deal For Autobiography

November 21, 2012

Swedish hard rock musician Dregen (real name: Andreas Tyrone Svensson; BACKYARD BABIES, MICHAEL MONROE) has inked a deal with Norstedts, Sweden's oldest publishing house, for the release of his autobiography. The as-yet-untitled book will be written with the help of writer Tore S. Börjesson and it will be available next fall in Swedish, English and Japanese, "to start with," says Dregen.

Dregen has just completed recording the new album from former HANOI ROCKS singer Michael Monroe. He is also working on a solo CD, to be released sometime next year.

Best known as the guitarist of BACKYARD BABIES and as a founding member of the HELLACOPTERS, Dregen made his live debut as the guitarist of Monroe's solo band in June 2011 at Kalasatama in Helsinki as the support act for the FOO FIGHTERS.

Dregen was a member of the HELLACOPTERS from the band's inception in 1994 until 1998, at which point he decided to focus on BACKYARD BABIES.

BACKYARD BABIES announced in November 2009 that they were going on an indefinite hiatus after completing a European tour.
